Burnt alum is a unique substance created on the basis of traditional aluminum-potassium samples. To obtain them, the initial material is heated to 160 degrees Celsius and then evaporated to a loss of 50% of the original volume.

As a result, it is possible to obtain an odorless absorbent white powder, characterized by a form in the form of small crystals.

The finished product has the following effect:

  • Antibacterial;
  • Drying;
  • Hemostatic;
  • Cautery;

In addition, alum quickly eliminates itching and other discomforts. As a result, help with stomatitis is guaranteed in every case.

Indications and contraindications

Alum is useful for almost any form of stomatitis. An exception is the herpetic form of stomatitis since the drug is not used as an antiviral agent. In the treatment of herpetic stomatitis, additional antiviral medication is recommended.

Burnt alum powder

Usually, alum is prescribed for complex therapy in order to create a protective film, with which it can reduce pain, discomfort, weaken salivation, create a basis for protecting the epithelium from secondary infections.

Alum is successfully used not only in the treatment of stomatitis but also in many other cases:

  • injuries of the mucous membrane of the oral cavity, which were obtained by accidentally biting the lips, tongue, internal surfaces of the cheeks, soft tissue damage;
  • bleeding with wounds in the mouth.

Adults can dilute alum at the rate of a full teaspoon per cup of boiled water.

There are no contraindications to the use of alum. The manifestation of allergic reactions is practically not observed.

Treatment regimen

Alum is one of the fastest ways to get rid of stomatitis.

Natural powder leads to the appearance of a colloidal film that promotes the rapid healing of tissues.

In the place of application, burnt alum (instructions for use for stomatitis will be discussed in detail below) form albuminate or a so-called colloidal film.

It is able to protect the nerve endings, thereby significantly reducing pain, itching, as well as tension and burning of existing wounds.

The powder has astringent, anti-inflammatory, drying effects. The colloidal film tightens the wound, thus, the sore is protected, stops bleeding and heals much faster.

 Burnt alum from stomatitis works as follows:

  1. the formation of colloidal films on the surface of wounds or ulcers after treatment due to a chemical reaction with the proteins of pathogens during the interaction;
  2. blocking nerve receptors responsible for pain, itching, and burning;
  3. when applied directly to the wound, the blood stops, the edges are dried and tightened.

In the first stage of the disease, timely treatment of the affected areas with burnt alum will prevent the development and deepening of the ulcers, which will prevent the disease from developing.

Therefore, it is better to apply for the medicine directly to the wound. This will prevent the spread of infection through/outside the oral mucosa. With dot processing of the aphtha, the healing process goes faster, and the pain is significantly reduced.

When using alum in the complex treatment scheme, it is possible to use them as local lotions and rinses. It is previously recommended to disinfect the oral cavity with cleaning wounds.

Instructions for use

Alum is used as a means for rinsing the mouth during stomatitis.

To prepare the solution, it is necessary to add 0.5 hl to the glass of boiled water. powder and stir it thoroughly.

At the same time, the consistency of the solution becomes slightly viscous (like starch for linen), and on the taste – sourish. Apply should be 5-7p / day, the duration of the procedure 1-2min.

It is not forbidden to use the solution for the treatment of stomatitis in children, while the schematics of the application is modified: it is necessary to lubricate the oral cavity with a cotton swab for 3-4 days per 3-4 days per day. after the procedure, refrain from eating and drinking.

Lotions, rinsing

The rinse solution is prepared as follows:

  1. take the following ingredients: a glass of boiled water, 4-5 g of burnt alum;
  2. mixing until the crystals dissolve;
  3. store the solution for no more than two days in the refrigerator;
  4. Before use, the liquid must be stirred.

To cure stomatitis in a child, you can apply the method of spot treatment of ulcers, aft concentrated solution.

To obtain a working fluid you need to take 10 g of alum in a glass of water. The solution is applied with cotton swabs wiping.

Use the resulting solution every 3 hours by rinsing. After it is recommended to treat ulcers locally.

Dry alum

Adults are allowed to process aphthous by the dot method. To do this, you can use dry alum powder. To do this, a little powder (at the tip of the finger) is applied directly to open wounds.
