I just finished recording a Sex Drive podcast that I’m actually proud of. My sound engineering skills (my what?) still need work, and I need to get a better mic and stop breathing into it, but the content is stronger this week.

Now that I’ve recorded, I need to finish writing the column. Interesting to do the spoken word first and the written after … same topic but totally different creative processes, and different experiences to hear or read, too.

Sort of. All our other podcasts are just reading the columnns out loud, so you have it in both formats.
I have an outline but I don’t script my podcasts word for word.
I will post a bullet list of “high points” here with the link to the MP3, and I can send you the poetry, it’s great.

there was a site that amde transcripts of select podcasts, but they went under. It seems working hard for other people without pay sucks.

Seems like we should have voice recognition software that can take the audio file and spit out text now, that’s close enough to the original. Is it still that bad? Obviously it wouldn’t be as good as a human but it could process more podcasts than a human.

I use Word 2003 to do my transcripts while I’m recording, but I had to train it to my voice and that took a long time to be effective. I guess each podcaster could so the same if they really wanted to, but I only do it because most people can’t understand my accent.
