As many predicted, the adult trade show is noticeably smaller this year than it’s been in the past. And yet I still managed to go all day without seeing everyone I want to see.

I did a fast cruise through both the public area and the business-to-business area, looking for new or interesting sex-tech. There’s not much in the way of exotic or “tipping point” innovation this year but I did find a few things worth mentioning.

OhMiBod Freestyle
OhMiBod introduced the Freestyle, a wireless, music-driven vibrator. You plug the transmitter dongle into your iPod’s headphone jack, then your headphones into the the dongle, and then … no telltale wire going from music device to body part (yours or someone else’s).

I stuffed the prototype down my jeans and took a walk — I got 19 steps away from the booth before the vibrations stopped. The big advantage over the regular OhMiBod toys is that you can control the vibrator’s intensity and the music’s volume separately. Not only does that save your eardrums, it offers more discretion in public places.

Real Touch
The latest offering in teledildonics — even though the spokeswoman had not heard the term ‘teledildonics’ before. It’s a nice, lightweight, hands-free sleeve that matches the video you’re watching with sensations of suck, squeeze, warmth, and wetness. My fingers aren’t long enough to get the full experience but it did feel good. They’re already talking about creating a version for women and enabling the devices for internet-enabled sex between people (in addition to tying the motion to video).

Dirty Kitty
Another entry in the “leave no trace of your porn surfing” category, this piggyback computer is a little XP device you plug into your USB port and surf porn from. When you’re done, poof gone, everything on the disk is wiped out. But I liked it because he made the USB drive a cute little piggybank shape, rather than the normal stick. I forgot to take a picture of this one, too.
