Another erotic-only virtual world launches

February 12th, 2008 · 6 Comments

I haven’t tried it out yet, but Hustler has launched a 3D game for which it charges $10 for a three-day trial and $30 for a month’s membership, according to AVN.

Hustler3D does not appear to be a virtual world in which you interact with other members, but rather, a game more like Virtually Jenna in which you create custom characters, direct them in sex scenes, collect sexual implements that give you access to other “sets” like airplanes and swimming pools, and so on. As I said, I’ve not tried it out yet, so I could be wrong on some of these details. I wonder if this is Hustler’s answer to Playboy’s island in Second Life?

Given the choice, would you prefer to play dollhouse style like this, or interact with other people, a la virtual world, when it comes to 3D adult activity?

I’ve always found virtual worlds to be incredibly boring without people. Toolboxes are filled with handy gadgets for making things, but what people make with them are what is really interesting.

I vastly prefer “Second Life” to “The Sims”

I’ve played 3D Sex Villa and it’s better than Virtual Jenna and most of the others I’ve seen. The only real issues I have with it are that they limit where the camera can go as though it were a real object so you can’t get really good shots of things like anal penetration, and it won’t let you use anal play in certain situations e.g. 2 girls. Otherwise they’ve done an excellent of developing it from the hokey game it started out as.

I tried Second Life and found it as interesting as watching paint dry; I truly don’t get the hype.

oh, and to answer the question: I prefer something more akin to a dollhouse as long as the dolls have a decent AI.

If it were not for the people, I wouldn’t even suffer the impedance of client-server 3D interfaces.

    People add a dynamic, sure.

But there is also one’s imagination to rely on.

In my opinion Hustler 3D isn’t as good as Second Life but it beats any porn mag by a mile.
